No. Therapy Trainings CE is not accepted by the Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at this time. Nevada psychologists should seek CE from APA-approved providers or other board-approved sources.

How many online hours can I complete in Nevada?

This varies by profession. Social Workers can complete all hours online. Counselors and MFTs are limited to 20 hours of distance education. Psychologists are limited to 15 home study credits.

What are Nevada's cultural competency/DEI requirements?

All Nevada mental health professions require 6 hours in cultural competency, diversity, equity, and inclusion. For social workers, this was increased from 2 to 6 hours effective January 1, 2024. Courses must address persons of different cultural backgrounds including various gender, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, LGBTQ+ persons, children and seniors, veterans, persons with disabilities, and others.

Are there supervision training requirements in Nevada?

Yes, approved supervisors for Counselors and MFTs must complete at least 2 hours on supervision topics including supervision models, supervisor roles, the supervision process, ethical dilemmas in supervising, and supervision standards from AAMFT, NBCC, or ACES.

What are the different CE requirements for social work license levels?

LSWs, LMSWs, and LASWs need 30 hours with 10 hours in their field of practice. LCSWs and LISWs need 36 hours with 12 hours in their field of practice. All license levels can complete all hours online.
