Yes, with limits. Addiction counselors can complete a maximum of 50% (20 hours) online, and ethics must be face-to-face. Other professions generally accept online CE.

Does Idaho require suicide prevention training?

Yes. Both Counselors and MFTs in Idaho must complete 3 hours of suicide assessment or intervention training each renewal cycle.

What are the ethics requirements in Idaho?

Ethics requirements vary: Counselors need 6 hours, Social Workers need 2 hours, MFTs need 6 hours, Psychologists need 4 hours (laws and ethics), and Addiction Counselors need 4 hours (face-to-face only).

Idaho Counselors require only 12 hours total, but all hours have specific topic requirements (ethics, boundaries, suicide assessment). MFTs require 40 hours with the same core requirements plus additional general hours.
