Provisional Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs) need 20 CEHs every 2 years, including 1.5 hours in ethics and 1.5 hours in diagnosis. Provisional LMFTs also need 20 CEHs with similar reduced requirements for ethics and diagnosis.
Does Louisiana require telehealth training?
Yes, for some licensees. LPCs, PLPCs, LMFTs, and PLMFTs who are previously approved to practice telehealth must complete 3 CEHs in Telehealth per renewal period.
What is the clinical supervision requirement?
Requirements vary by profession. Board Approved Supervisor LPCs need 3 CEHs per renewal. Board Approved Supervisor LMFTs need 6 CEHs every 4 years. LCSW-BACS need 3 hours every 2 years. Addiction Counselors must include 8 hours of clinical supervision in their 48 total hours.
