The Social Worker Safety Awareness Training is designed to equip social workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure their safety and well-being while working in challenging and potentially risky environments. This comprehensive course addresses the unique safety concerns and risks that social workers may encounter in their daily practice. By focusing on prevention, de-escalation techniques, and effective communication strategies, this training aims to empower social workers to navigate their roles with confidence and minimize potential hazards.
Course Objectives:
In this course, you will learn to:
Understand the importance of safety in social work practice, including the legal and ethical responsibilities of both employers and social workers.
Identify potential safety risks and hazards commonly encountered by social workers in various settings, such as homes, schools, hospitals, and community agencies.
Develop effective strategies for risk assessment and mitigation, including recognizing signs of potential danger and assessing client situations for potential safety concerns.
Learn de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution skills to diffuse tense situations and avoid confrontations.
Enhance communication skills to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and law enforcement, as well as to establish clear boundaries and assertively communicate concerns.
Explore self-care practices and stress management techniques to maintain emotional and physical well-being in the face of challenging and potentially traumatic situations.
Familiarize themselves with available resources and support systems, both within their organizations and externally, to seek assistance and guidance in high-risk situations.

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, professionals must purchase the course, read/listen to the presentation, and complete the posttest (with a passing score of 80%) and course evaluation. Posttests may be retaken as many times as you need. Certificates of completion will be emailed immediately after course completion and can be accessed from your account anytime.
This course has been approved by Therapy Trainings™, as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, for 10.25 CE hours. NAADAC provider #270493. Therapy Trainings™ is responsible for all aspects of its programming.
