Course Overview:
The HIV/AIDS Considerations Training is a comprehensive program designed to equip mental health professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to understand, address, and manage the unique challenges faced by individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. This training delves deep into the intersections of mental health and HIV/AIDS, ensuring professionals are well-prepared to provide holistic and compassionate care.
Course Objectives:
In this course, you will learn to:
gain a fundamental understanding of the nature of HIV/AIDS, transmission routes, stages, and its global impact;
learn about the psychological and psychiatric implications of HIV/AIDS diagnosis, treatment, and stigma;
utilize specialized techniques and approaches to support HIV/AIDS-affected clients;
understand the societal and internalized stigmas surrounding HIV/AIDS and develop strategies to counter them;
recognize and respect the diverse experiences of those living with HIV/AIDS across different cultures, races, genders, and socio-economic statuses;
understand and uphold the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS and the ethical standards of care, and
utilize techniques for collaborating with other healthcare professionals when treating clients with HIV/AIDS.

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, professionals must purchase the course, read/listen to the presentation, and complete the posttest (with a passing score of 80%) and course evaluation. Posttests may be retaken as many times as you need. Certificates of completion will be emailed immediately after course completion and can be accessed from your account anytime.
This course has been approved by Therapy Trainings™, as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, for 11.75 CE hours. NAADAC provider #270493. Therapy Trainings™ is responsible for all aspects of its programming.
