This text-based course was developed in 2023 for Mental Health Professionals. This course delves into EMDR therapy, covering its principles, history, and research backing its effectiveness for PTSD and trauma.

This course provides an in-depth understanding of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a specialized form of psychotherapy used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related mental health conditions. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of EMDR therapy, its history, and the evidence-based research supporting its efficacy. The course will also explore how to integrate EMDR therapy into practice and provide practical tools and techniques for working with clients.
Course Objectives:
In this course, you will learn to:
understand the history and development of EMDR therapy;
apply the eight phases of EMDR therapy and the basic principles behind the treatment;
understand the research supporting the use of EMDR therapy and the conditions it can treat;
apply EMDR therapy techniques in clinical practice;
grasp the importance of the therapist's role in facilitating the EMDR therapy process;
describe how EMDR therapy can be integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan, and
observe ethical considerations when using EMDR therapy.

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, professionals must purchase the course, read/listen to the presentation, and complete the posttest (with a passing score of 80%) and course evaluation. Posttests may be retaken as many times as you need. Certificates of completion will be emailed immediately after course completion and can be accessed from your account anytime.
