This text-based course was developed in 2023 for Mental Health Professionals. This course explores cultural influences in domestic violence, enhancing interventions for victims and perpetrators.

This course is designed to provide mental health professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate role that cultural factors play in domestic violence. By recognizing and addressing these cultural nuances, professionals can offer more effective and tailored interventions for victims and perpetrators of domestic violence.
Course Objectives:
In this course, you will learn to:
identify and describe the key cultural factors that can influence perceptions, experiences, and reporting of domestic violence;
examine the intersectionality of culture, gender, and socioeconomic status in the context of domestic violence;
recognize culturally specific signs and manifestations of domestic violence in diverse populations;
evaluate the barriers and challenges faced by culturally diverse victims in seeking help and accessing resources;
understand the implications of cultural beliefs, practices, and stigmas on intervention and treatment approaches for domestic violence survivors;
analyze the role of cultural competence in effective therapeutic interventions and community outreach for victims of domestic violence, and
explore and integrate culturally sensitive and inclusive strategies for prevention, intervention, and advocacy in domestic violence cases.

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, professionals must purchase the course, read/listen to the presentation, and complete the posttest (with a passing score of 80%) and course evaluation. Posttests may be retaken as many times as you need. Certificates of completion will be emailed immediately after course completion and can be accessed from your account anytime.
This course has been approved by Therapy Trainings™, as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, for 5.5 CE hours. NAADAC provider #270493. Therapy Trainings™ is responsible for all aspects of its programming.
