Course Overview


This course provides an in-depth understanding of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, a specialized form of psychotherapy used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related mental health conditions. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of EMDR therapy, its history, and the evidence-based research supporting its efficacy. The course will also explore how to integrate EMDR therapy into practice and provide practical tools and techniques for working with clients.

Course Objectives


In this course, you will learn: 

  • Understand the history and development of EMDR therapy.

  • Describe the eight phases of EMDR therapy and the basic principles behind the treatment.

  • Understand the research supporting the use of EMDR therapy and the conditions it can treat.

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, professionals must read the material, pay the continuing education certificate fee and complete the posttest (with a passing score of 80%) and course evaluation. Posttests may be retaken. Certificates of completion will be emailed immediately after course completion.

This course has been approved by Therapy Trainings™, as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, for 5 CE hours. NAADAC provider #270493. Therapy Trainings™ is responsible for all aspects of its programming.
