This text-based course was developed in 2024 for mental health professionals. This course provides behavioral health clinicians with an in-depth exploration of evidence-based interventions for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), with a focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), executive functioning support, and structured skill-building techniques.

Clinicians will learn how to target core ADHD symptoms through individualized strategies that enhance emotional regulation, time management, organization, behavioral activation, and motivation.
Through practical tools, clinical demonstrations, and case-informed applications, participants will develop the skills necessary to design and implement intervention plans that address functional impairments and comorbidities. Emphasis will be placed on tailoring interventions to the developmental stage, identifying barriers to implementation, and integrating both individual and family-focused strategies for improved outcomes.
Course Objectives:
In this course, you will learn to:
apply core principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to address maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors associated with ADHD across the lifespan;
assess and intervene on executive functioning deficits in domains such as working memory, planning, task initiation, and emotional regulation;
implement structured, skills-based interventions that promote organization, time management, sustained attention, and self-monitoring in clients with ADHD;
integrate motivational and behavioral reinforcement strategies to enhance treatment engagement and support habit formation, and
adapt intervention strategies to developmental level and comorbid presentations, including anxiety, oppositional behaviors, and learning disabilities, within the context of ADHD treatment.
