Course Objectives: 

In this course, you will learn to: 

  • apply core principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to address maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors associated with ADHD across the lifespan;

  • assess and intervene on executive functioning deficits in domains such as working memory, planning, task initiation, and emotional regulation;

  • implement structured, skills-based interventions that promote organization, time management, sustained attention, and self-monitoring in clients with ADHD;

  • integrate motivational and behavioral reinforcement strategies to enhance treatment engagement and support habit formation, and

  • adapt intervention strategies to developmental level and comorbid presentations, including anxiety, oppositional behaviors, and learning disabilities, within the context of ADHD treatment.
